SALAMA

This suite has four windows and is thus very luminous. Like the “Fattouma’s suite”, it opens on the private double arcade patio, decorated with an old sculpted stone fountain. Above the wall, the immemorial internal structure of the Roman buildings was left exposed (alternating layers of stone, flat bricks and elements of terra cotta, which ensure an optimal insulating). This reminder of the past has a remarkable aesthetics, which will fit with the guests’ taste for archeology. The bedroom is connected to its gray marble bathroom by a privative corridor, overlooking the patio and the fountain, through a typical Tunisian wooden and colored glass wall. A monumental baldaquin double bed joins its Ottoman style heraldic elements with an oriental “Qadjar” style Persian mirror in a painted frame. The name of this suite is a tribute to a legendary Egyptian film of 1945, “Salama”, which launched Oum-Kulthoum, the unforgettable Egyptian diva.
