Dido

It’s a cosy suite on the second floor, installed in the kiosk; it is accessed from the patio gallery through a separate staircase. It has a two leveled floor: the bed is lying on a wooden parquet which provides the feeling of traditional Japanese interiors. The window of the bedroom opens on the west part of the Medina, in particular the green tiled dome of a royal “madrasa” and an ageless fig tree which made its way between the walls. Its bathroom is entirely covered with black marble and mirrors, with a view on the minaret and the two white ribbed domes of the grand mosque Ez-Zitouna.
Dido was the first Queen of Carthage (-814 / -760), deified under the name of "Tanit".
